Indian Pass from Upper Works: Wallface Mountain
Elevation: 2660 ft
Ascent: 870 ft
One-Way Distance: 4.4 miles
Location: Upper Works trailhead north of Newcomb.
The trail starts on a wide graveled road and soon turns left at the first junction. For the next 1.7 miles it may be muddy, but a side step here and there and many rock hops bring you to the Henderson lean-to, a nice place to camp. The trail continues along the Indian Pass Brook to the Wallface lean-to at 2.7 miles. The trail continues on an easy grade. However, the final 0.5 miles of trail winds through huge boulders, before arriving at two ladders. Climbing these ladders one arrives at side trail left to Summit Rock and a excellent view point of Wallface's huge cliffs. To reach the actual top of the pass requires a further ascent of 170 ft and a walk of few hundred yards.
