The Trail through Klondike Notch - A Moderate Hike to JBL

Elevation: 3182 ft

Ascent: 1130 ft

Distance: 4.2 to notch; 6.3 miles to JBL

Location: South Meadows Rd off of Adirondak Loj road.

Parking is along the edge of the road just after turning on to the South Meadow road.  After a mile walk along the road a nice bridge crossed.  Beyond this point easy grades and leaf covered trails make for a pleasant walk.  The Klondike lean-to (roughly 3.6 miles in) is a well kept lean-to and a great spot to camp. (photo) The top of the knotch is reached in 4.2 miles.  One can descend the other side of the notch and arrive at Johns Brook Loj in Johns Brook Valley.
