Moss Lake Circuit – A Family Friendly Pond

Elevation: 1760 ft
Ascent: less than 100 ft
Distance: 2.5 or 3.9 miles
Location: 2.1 miles north of Eagle Bay on Big Moose road.
Moss Lake lies along Big Moose Rd north out of Eagle Bay. It sports two very nice parking lots one for the handicap accessible portion of the trail. There are trails from both lots leading a short distance down to the edge of the lake. There is also a 2.5 mile loop trail which circles the lake. The entire trail is easy walking on a wide trail. The lake is also a popular canoe and kayak destination.
Walking clockwise the junction for the 0.7 mile side trail to Bubb Lake is reached in coincidently 0.7 miles. This side trail is equally wide and easy walking. The trail over to Sis Lake along this side of Bubb Lake is said to be 0.8 miles in length. With two cars it would be possible to start at Moss Lake and end at the Sis-Bubb Lakes trailhead just west of Eagle Bay. See: Bubb & Sis Lakes
