Snow Mountain: A Gem Among the Giants

Elevation: 2360 ft
Ascent: 1360 ft
Round-Trip Distance: 3.4 miles
Location: Off Route 73 in Keene Valley
Start on the low water Deer brook trail and its many twists and turns. Take your time on this lower part of the trail as you can lose track of the trail. (The high water route is easier and less time consuming, but be respectful of the private property that lies along this trail.)
The trail is easy to slightly moderate and continues to climb through a beautiful forest. Coming to the junction at the base of Snow Mt. take a right and head up to find a ledge with a great view of Rooster Comb Mt. and its cliffs (photo). From there it is a short distance to the top with many more views.

Happy hiking,
