Wilderness Campground at Heart Lake Heart Lake

ADK's Wilderness Campground is adjacent to the Adirondak Loj in the Adirondack High Peaks region.

In addition to campsites, you can enjoy the rustic simplicity of an Adirondack lean-to or the comforts of the Wiezel Trails Cabin or the Campground Cabin. Also available are canvas cabins -- cozy walled tents on wooden platforms -- accommodating six people in three bunk beds with mattresses.

  • Pets are permitted in the campground area only if they are on a leash, are not disruptive to other campers, and are kept out of all buildings on the property. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

Protect Our Forests from Insect Invaders

Transporting untreated firewood spreads diseases from insect invaders that kill trees. State regulation prohibits the import of firewood into New York unless it has been kiln dried. The regulation also limits the transportation of untreated firewood to less than 50 miles from its source. Local firewood is available for sale at ADK's Wilderness Campground.
