The Chapters of the Adirondack Mountain Club

ADK has a unique opportunity through its chapters and the expertise of its members to provide to the public and its members opportunities to visit some of the most beautiful, yet also most fragile, wild areas in New York State and surrounding areas. The recreational experience provides opportunity for improved physical and mental health, personal growth, and an understanding of one's place in the natural world. It also enhances an understanding of the importance and the fragility of these places. The recreational experience leads to a new and richer perspective which promotes involvement in education and conservation.

When you join ADK you will be asked on the membership application to select a chapter or join ADK as a member at large. The chapter you chose will be your home chapter, and it will provide you an opportunity to meet individuals with common ingterests as well as to get involved with local issues and outings. As a chapter member you will receive the chapter newsletter to keep you informed about outings, events, and other social activities. For an additional fee you can affiliate with other chapters and receive their newsletters. You can affiliate with as many ADK chapters as you like.
