Wilderness Legal Defense Fund
The ADK Wilderness Legal Defense Fund was established to ensure that the Adirondack Mountain Club is able to pursue legal actions in a timely manner to protect our precious natural resources.
New York’s wild lands and waters are under threat from many quarters, and there are fewer and fewer organizations able to fend off those threats. Fortunately, there is the Adirondack Mountain Club. ADK has decades of conservation experience and an impressive record of courtroom victories.
Going to court is often necessary to protect natural resources, but it costs money. And court deadlines leave little time to raise funds for legal expenses. But the Wilderness Legal Defense Fund will allow ADK to act quickly and effectively when the need arises.
Thank you to all the donors who had their gifts matched before Dec. 3 -- We reached our challenge goal of $10,000 and we are still climbing! Our campaign goal remains $100,000 to ensure ADK can fight for our public natural resources -- namely our water, land, and air -- more effectively and long into the future.
Your tax-deductible donations to this fund will make a tangible and lasting difference in the Adirondacks and Catskills, in our state parks and forests, in our rivers and streams. If you would like to donate to this special fund, send a check payable to the Adirondack Mountain Club to:
