The Environmental Protection Fund Needs Your Help
EPF Lobby Day, Feb. 13, 2012
Action Needed
to Protect the Environmental Protection Fund and
the Integrity of Operations Funding
Dear ADK Members,
We need your help. Join with us as we meet with state legislators to advocate in support of these programs as part of New York’s economic recovery!
The Environmental Protection Fund (EPF), New York’s largest and most important environmental funding source, was proposed at last year’s level by Governor Cuomo. In most recent years, the EPF was cut drastically due to hard economic times. The Governor clearly recognizes the great economic benefits the fund provides to New York.
The Legislature has until April 1st to make changes and approve a final budget. We must ensure they understand what the Governor understands; EPF programs are good economic programs.
Join us in Albany on Monday, February 13th as we rally in support of New York’s Environmental Protection Fund. RSVP TODAY BY EMAILING allison@adk.org . To register for the day, please send an email including your name, mailing address, phone number and email address. Please register by Wednesday, February 1st.
The event will run from 9:30 AM until 4 PM. A light continental breakfast will be served. More information, including directions to the Capitol, hotel information, lobbying tips, fact sheets and a schedule will be provided to participants prior to the day. No lobbying experience is necessary.
With your help, we can continue to ensure that critical environmental programs are part of New York’s economic recovery!
For more information please contact Allison Beals, Adirondack Mountain Club in Albany, New York at 518-449-3870 or allison@adk.org.
We need to let the Legislature know that New Yorkers want a budget that will protect NY’s most beautiful and natural assets from degradation. New Yorkers need a budget to believe in.
