Trailless Peak Day Hike: Street and Nye
Uncomfortable approaching “trailless” high peaks on your own? This one-day courses will introduce you to the nuances of hiking off-trail through a guided trip to the summits of Street and Nye (elev. 4,166ft and 3,895 ft.). We’ll discuss safe low-impact travel, route selection, off trail navigation, and the rich natural history of the Adirondacks.

Family Canoe Camping: Lake Lila
Here’s an opportunity to share an unforgettable experience with your child or grandchild. Spend two nights and three days canoe camping on serene and beautiful Lake Lila. Enjoy sandy beaches, day hikes, and plenty of fun and games. There will be plenty of time for playing on the beaches, learning new canoe strokes and exploring the history of the area.

Women’s High Peaks Hike
This trip are designed for women who are looking for an exciting hike in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. During these one-day courses, we’ll discuss safe low-impact travel, route selection, and the rich natural history of the Adirondacks while climbing to the summit of Phelps Mountain (elev. 4,161 ft).

Aug. 8-11
Dog Days
This four-day Heart Lake exploration and discovery program is designed for kids ages 8-12. Each day will feature fun educational activities utilizing the woods and waters around the Adirondak Loj. These will include hiking, canoeing, pond & brook explorations, and lots of excitement and games. A “grand finale” for summer before the kids return to school! Children should bring their own lunch and snacks each day.

Aug. 13
Paddling Day Trip: Long Pond Mountain
Tucked away in the St. Regis Canoe Wilderness, yet easily accessed by canoe or kayak, is a small mountain with big views. We’ll paddle across a few backcountry ponds, complete a short carry in between, and then take a leisurely hike to the summit to enjoy the panoramic views over this pond-speckled landscape. We’ll discuss safe, low-impact travel and the rich natural history of the Adirondacks.
Cost: $59/$65; includes instruction and equipment use.

Women’s High Peaks Hike
This trip are designed for women who are looking for an exciting hike in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. During these one-day courses, we’ll discuss safe low-impact travel, route selection, and the rich natural history of the Adirondacks while climbing to the summits of the MacIntyre Range (elev. 4,580 - 5,114 ft).

Trailless Peak Backpacking: Mt. Marshall
New for 2011 – 2-day Marshall trip! This trip is designed for those who have experience hiking and backpacking and who are looking for a more leisurely guided backcountry experience in pursuit of climbing Mt. Marshall, instead of a long 17-mile day hike. The group will hike into a base camp from which they’ll be guided up the “trailless” Mt. Marshall. This course will be a cooperative group camping experience led by a NYS licensed guide with the shared responsibility of camp chores, cooking, and decision- making.

Aug. 14
Paddling Day Trip: Raquette Falls
Paddling up the Raquette River to the falls is a classic day trip. The slow moving current is easy to move through, and there are many places to stop and relax, or take a swim from the sandy riverbanks. At the falls, we’ll enjoy lunch and some brief exploring, and then begin the gentle “float” back to the take out. There will be some informal instruction on paddling skills, including safe and responsible travel, as well as discussion of the rich natural history of the area.

Trailless Peak Day Hike: Esther Mt.
Uncomfortable approaching “trailless” high peaks on your own? This one-day courses will introduce you to the nuances of hiking off-trail through a guided trip to the summit of Esther Mt. (elev. 4,240 ft.). We’ll discuss safe low-impact travel, route selection, off trail navigation, and the rich natural history of the Adirondacks.

Aug. 19-21
Trailless Peak Backpacking: Cliff and Redfield
This trip is designed for those who have experience hiking and backpacking and who are looking for guided backcountry experience in pursuit of climbing two 4,000’+ summits. The group will hike into a base camp from which they’ll be guided up the “trailless” peaks of Cliff and Redfield Mountains. The course will be a cooperative group camping experience led by a NYS licensed guide with the shared responsibility of camp chores, cooking, and decision-making.

Moderate Day Hikes: St. Regis Mountain
Get off on the right foot with our Beginner Day Hike series and learn the ropes from a seasoned professional guide. A guided trip to the summit of St. Regis Mt. (5.5-miles; elev. 2,800 ft.) will provide the foundation of skills and knowledge necessary to fully enjoy your future outings. We’ll discuss safe low-impact travel, map reading, equipment, nutrition, and more, including the rich natural history of the Adirondacks.

Aug. 22-26
Leave No Trace Master Educator
This five-day course is designed for individuals who are actively teaching others backcountry skills or providing recreation information to the public. Through classroom discussions, lectures, and a four-day backpacking trip, this course will cover the seven Leave No Trace principles and discuss wildland ethics, as well as give the participants the tools and techniques for disseminating these low-impact skills to other users of the backcountry. Participants could include a mixture of federal agency partners, educators, outdoor retailers, youth group and outing club leaders, and other individuals. Upon completion of the course, you will be qualified to teach Leave No Trace Trainer courses. The Leave No Trace Master Educator qualification is recognized and valued throughout the outdoor industry.

Cost: $629/$699, includes instruction, curriculum and teaching materials, a subscription to the Leave No Trace Tracker and a one-year Leave No Trace Individual Membership. One night's lodging in the loft of the Adirondak Loj, meals from Day 1 lunch through Day 5 lunch, group equipment, and transportation during the course are also included.

Trailless Peak Backpacking: The Santanonis
This trip is designed for those who have experience hiking and backpacking and who are looking for guided backcountry experience in pursuit of climbing the three 4,000’+ summits of the Santanoni Range. The group will hike into a base camp from which they’ll be guided up the “trailless” peaks of Santanoni, Panther, and Couchsachraga. This course will be a cooperative group camping experience led by a NYS licensed guide with the shared responsibility of camp chores, cooking, and decision-making.

Trailless Peak Day Hike: Table Top Mt.

(elev. 4,427 ft.). We’ll discuss safe low-impact travel, route selection, off trail navigation, and the rich natural history of the Adirondacks.
