National Trails Day, June 4

This year, ADK will host National Trails Day projects dispersed along the Northville-Placid Trail (NPT). All projects are one day in duration (from 8 a.m. to approximately 3:30 pm). Projects range from side cutting, drainage clearing and blowdown removal to campsite improvements (including privy relocations and tent pad installation). The entire program is free of charge for all participants, but donations are appreciated. Each volunteer will receive a National Trails Day t-shirt!

The ADK Memorial Pathway

In 2022, honor a loved one with a dedicated engraved paver at Heart Lake while supporting ADK’s mission and commemorating ADK’s Centennial. The ADK Memorial Pathway will start at the Loj and head down to Heart Lake, replacing the current pathway.

Peaks and Ponds, Adirondack Day Hikes

This new ADK publication will be available in March 2022 and features thirty-seven classic and less-traveled day hikes throughout the Adirondack Park that can be enjoyed year-round. Written by ADK staff members Bobby Clark and Cat Hadlow, the book includes historic information about ADK’s role in conservation, trail building and maintenance, land easements, and more, telling the story of ADK’s 100 years of “Educating, Exploring, and Protecting” the Adirondack Park’s wild lands and waters. Stay tuned for information about our upcoming launch party and book signings.
