Seasonal Position

The food stand staff are responsible for operating and handling the activities of ADK’s food stand, The Hungry Hiker. Staff duties include welcoming guests who approach the food stand, food preparation and cooking, selling food and drinks, collecting money and tendering change, following proper sanitation guidelines during preparation, service, and cleanup. Additional responsibilities include promoting ADK’s mission, facility and equipment cleaning, information services, and inventory.

Location: Adirondak Loj & Heart Lake Program Center, Lake Placid, NY

Position Dates: Mid-May to Labor Day; option to stay through Indigenous Peoples’ Day

Compensation: $14.25/hour plus tips; Paid sick time; Free ADK membership; Option for Leave No Trace Trainer workshop; Free ADK workshops; Discounts on store merchandise and rental equipment; On-site housing available.
