Over the past few decades, aquatic invasive species have made their way into Adirondack waterways. These aquatic hitchhikers can be unintentionally transported to new water bodies by boaters and recreationists. Early detection is the key to stopping these species before they take hold in a new home.
Join ADK for this day trip to conduct citizen science surveys at Rock and Pickerel Ponds. We will discuss how to identify native and non-native species while out on the water and share our findings. We will use ADK’s packable rafts to complete this survey. Two miles of hiking with a few miles of paddling.
