ADK is empowering the next generation of outdoor recreators and land stewards. Through trail work, workshops, and backcountry adventures, our youth and teen programs introduce young adults to the wonders and challenges of the outdoor world while building friendship, camaraderie, and skills.

Because ADK leads trips with fewer than 9 participants, this camp is not regulated or inspected by the New York State Department of Health and is not required to obtain a Department of Health permit. This camp is not required to follow Department of Health regulations, including, checking the state sex offender registry prior to hiring staff; maintaining minimum staff-to-child ratios; hiring medical personnel; or reporting injuries or illnesses to the Department of Health.
ADK takes the safety of its participants seriously. As such, we voluntarily perform background checks on leaders, train all leaders in Wilderness First Responder, run all trips with two adult leaders, report and review incidents, and work with the Department of Health to inspect facilities.
