Cozy Cabin Stays at Heart Lake
Discover your basecamp and explore the High Peaks Wilderness at ADK’s Heart Lake Program Center. Our Adirondak Loj features both private and communal rooms.

Looking for more privacy? There are three cabins at the Heart Lake Program Center: Campground Cabin, Tyler Cabin, and Wiezel Trails Cabin.
Campground Cabin
The Campground Cabin at Heart Lake can accommodate up to four guests. This cozy cabin features:
- A main living room with a kitchen and dining area
- One bunk room with two sets of bunk beds
- A complete bathroom with a shower
- Electricity, hot and cold running water
- A fire pit and picnic table
The bunks include pillows, however, guests must bring their own bedding, pillowcases, and towels. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stovetop, oven, microwave, and a small refrigerator, as well as the various utensils and kitchen appliances.
There is no cell service or Wi-Fi at the cabin. Pets are prohibited inside the cabin. Smoking is prohibited in or near the cabin.
Tyler Cabin
Located just steps from the beach at Heart Lake, ADK’s Tyler Cabin can accommodate up to six people. In this cozy Adirondack cabin, you’ll find:
- A main living room with a kitchen and dining area
- Two bedrooms and a pull-out sofa in the living room
- A full bathroom including a shower
- Electricity, and hot and cold running water
- Pillows, blankets, and linens (guests must bring their own bath and dish towels)
- A fire pit and picnic table
The kitchen is equipped with an electric stovetop, oven, microwave, and refrigerator, as well as various utensils and appliances.
There is no cell service or Wi-Fi available at the cabin. Pets are prohibited inside the cabin. Smoking is prohibited in or near the cabin.
Wiezel Trails Cabin
While the Wiezel Trails Cabin houses ADK’s Professional Trail Crew from May–October, this cozy cabin is available for bookings for the rest of the year.
This cabin is great for large groups seeking an Adirondack getaway, as it can accommodate up to sixteen people. The cabin also includes:
- Four bunk rooms, each containing two sets of bunk beds
- Electricity, hot and cold running water
- Men’s and women’s washrooms with showers
- A kitchen complete with a refrigerator, electric stove, and various appliances and utensils
Guests must bring their own bedding, including pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels. Smoking is prohibited in the cabin. Pets are not permitted in the cabin.
Cozy Cabin Stays at the Johns Brook Property
Disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature. ADK’s Johns Brook Property is home to two cozy Adirondack cabins: Grace Camp and Camp Peggy O’Brien.
Grace Camp accommodates up to six people, while Camp Peggy O’Brien accommodates up to twelve.
Each cabin is only accessible by foot—a mostly flat, 3.5-mile hike into the Adirondack backcountry from the Garden parking lot in Keene, New York.
These cabins provide an excellent basecamp to explore the High Peaks, including Big Slide, Saddleback, and Lower and Upper Wolfjaw.
Amenities
Both cabins have a full set of kitchenware, propane stove, and sink. There is no Wi-Fi or cell service.
There is no running water inside the cabins—guests will need to either collect water at Johns Brook Lodge or boil water from a nearby brook. During the colder months, the cabins are heated with propane heaters.
These cabins feature vault privies. Toilet paper is not provided.
