Day holds a Master’s in Ecological Teaching and Learning from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a BS in Zoology from Cal Poly Humboldt in Northern California. A two-time Peace Corps Volunteer, Day taught coastal resource conservation and climate change education in at-risk communities in rural Philippines. She has also contributed to wilderness therapy programs for women veterans with PTSD, as well as youth suicide prevention efforts, both within the Yellowstone region.
She is a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation, a Leave No Trace Trainer of Trainers, and a Certified Naturalist through the Yellowstone Institute. She holds grant writing certifications from the University of Georgia and the University of South Carolina. She remains passionate about journaling, empowering young people globally, and fostering international teamwork. When not serving guests at the Loj, she can be found playing her guitar and embracing life in the Adirondacks.
