Erik has been an ADK member since 1998, and a Board Member since 2008 when the Binghamton Chapter was formed. He has served as an Associate Vice President and Vice President of ADK. He has chaired the Finance Committee since 2012, and also chairs the Investment Committee. He is an active member of the Binghamton Chapter Executive Committee. Erik is an avid hiker and photographer, and enjoys both in the Adirondacks as often as possible. He is a 46er and recently completed ADK’s Fire Tower Challenge. Erik also enjoys paddling his Hornbeck, and has participated for many years in the ADK Paddle Outing held at Paul Smiths College.
Erik began his 22 year career in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid for its final deployment, and retired as a Commander in 1994. He was a Navy fighter pilot with a specialty in photo reconnaissance, and has almost 300 carrier landings. During the latter part of his Navy career he moved into an aeronautical engineering sub-specialty and led a propulsion engineering branch in the Naval Air Systems Command.
Erik retired from his second career in 2016, where he was Vice-President and Program Manager for Three Arrows Corporation, a family business specializing in sub-contract electronic assembly.
Erik has a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Systems from the University of West Florida, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Illinois.
