Sam joined ADK in 2024 as a member of the High Peaks Information Center (HPIC) staff, keen on imparting knowledge of High Peaks trails and backcountry preparedness to the hiking public. Sam continues to facilitate retail strategy and interpretive education at the HPIC, guides wilderness backpacking and hiking trips in the summer and winter seasons, and is involved with the Advocacy Department, taking ADK’s mission-oriented messaging beyond the Blue Line.
Over the last fourteen years, Sam has explored hundreds of miles of trail and 162 peaks (so far) in the Adirondacks, White Mountains, and across the northeast, with forays to the Rockies, Pyrenees, and multiple Sierras (California, Madre Oriental, de Chiapas, de Guadarrama).
Sam is proud to call the Adirondacks home, and remains committed to the unique community and natural resources found therein. You can find him paddling, skiing, and hiking across the Forest Preserve.
