Located on the shores of Heart Lake in Lake Placid, New York, the Adirondak Loj has space for 38 guests in a combination of private rooms, bunk rooms, and a coed loft.
The cozy living room, with its stone fireplace, is perfect for recounting the day’s adventures or just relaxing with a book from our Adirondack library.
Private Rooms
The Adirondak Loj has six private rooms: two king, two queen, and two twin. Each room has a dresser, coat hangers, and mirror. Linens and towels are provided. All rooms share a common set of bathrooms.
Bunk Rooms
The Adirondak Loj features one four-person and two six-person bunk rooms. Each bunkroom is shared, coed, and reserved by the bed.
Each bunk room has bedside shelving, coat hooks, a common dresser, and a mirror. All linens and towels are provided.
Loft
The loft is a large 12-person room on the second floor of the Adirondak Loj with twelve single beds. The loft is coed and is reserved by the bed. The loft has a bright and roomy feel due to the added light from skylights and windows overlooking Heart Lake.
Food
Delicious meals are included with your stay and served in our rustic dining room. Vegetarian or vegan meals and most food allergies can be accommodated with 24-hour advance notice to staff.
Breakfast is served from 7–8 a.m. Trail lunches are available for an additional charge. Please sign up for a trail lunch during breakfast. Hot drinks are complimentary for Loj guests and are available in the Great Room.
Soda, beer, and wine can be purchased at the front desk. You may not bring your own alcohol into public areas of the Loj.
Heart Lake
Swimming in Heart Lake is available for Adirondak Loj guests when the beach is open. Please read the beach rules and sign in and out at the front desk. An adult must accompany children under 16 years old. A minimum of two adults 18 years of age or older must be present whenever this swimming facility is in use, with at least one adult on the beachfront.
Canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals are available at the front desk. An adult must accompany children under 16 years old.
Check-in / Checkout
Check-in begins at 3 p.m. at the front desk. Checkout is by 10 a.m.
Reservations are held until 9:00 a.m. the day after the reserved date of arrival. If you do not arrive and have not contacted the Front Desk, you are responsible for the entire cost of your reservation and the reservation will be forfeited at that time.
Additional Information
Telephones and televisions are not provided in the Loj. There is no cell service on the property.
Internet is available to Loj guests only. Please be respectful of other guests’ right to privacy and solitude. Turn off or mute notifications and do not live chat or make phone calls in the Great Room or guest rooms. Please do not bring electronics into the dining room during mealtimes.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. After 10:00 p.m., we request that your party use flashlights or headlamps when entering the coed bunkrooms or the family rooms. Please be aware that the Loj walls are thin and noises carry.
Pets are prohibited in the Loj. Smoking is not permitted in or near the Loj.
