ADK Outdoor Gear Consignment Program

ADK Outdoor Gear Consignment Program

In 2023, Adirondack Mountain Club launched an outdoor gear consignment program at Cascade Welcome Center to reduce barriers to accessing the outdoors and help visitors get equipped for safe and responsible outdoor adventures.

Consignment programs facilitate the sale of used gear, freeing up space for sellers and allowing recreationists to find high-quality outdoor equipment at a discounted price.

In 2024, ADK will accept consignment items from May 23–August 1.

Consignment Items We Are Accepting

ADK is currently accepting the following items for consignment:

  • Tents
  • Sleeping bags and sleeping pads
  • Internal frame backpacks
  • Single or double-blade paddles
  • Hiking boots
  • Trekking poles
  • Hammocks
  • Camping stoves
  • Road, gravel, and mountain bikes (not currently accepting town bikes)
  • Human-powered boats (kayaks, canoes, etc.)
  • Secondary layer clothing from high-quality, outdoor brands

All items must be cleaned, completely functional, and include all parts and pieces.

Additionally, the summer consignment program does not accept skis or ski accessories, base layer clothing, climbing equipment, soft goods such as ropes, external frame backpacks, or hunting equipment. Opportunities to consign skis and ski accessories will be made available during our winter season. We may accept some of these items as donations on a case-by-case basis.

We are also seeking paddleboard donations for the Adirondak Loj. If you have a paddleboard you’d like to donate to ADK, please drop it off at Cascade Welcome Center.

If you’re interested in selling your gear, visit Cascade Welcome Center during our summer hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day of the week. Cascade Welcome Center is located at 4833 Cascade Road, Lake Placid, NY 12946.
